Dog Park
tag:
The other day me, dad, grandma and Nick went to the dog park for the first time. Wow! What an experience that was! The second I walked into the park, this black thing jumped on my back and scared me half to death. Turns out it was a dog trying to "play". Well, I wasn't used to that, so I was trying to get away from him, but everytime I'd pause, there he would be again. On my back! I was running all over the place, frantic. The lady who owned the dog stooped over to see if she could get him to come to her so he would leave me alone. He just ignored her though and continued to pursue me. Well as soon as I saw her bend over, I saw my chance and grabbed it. I jumped on her back so fast everybody's heads were spinning. Hey! Queen of the Hill over here! Try to get me now, black thing! My grandma was so embarrassed, but she also saw the humor in it and was laughing so hard she could barely pick me up. The lady was laughing too. Finally I was up off the ground safe in grandma's arms! She soon put me down again though and told me I would have to get used to things like this. It didn't take too long before I told that dog where to go and he finally left me alone.
The park was fun. I could run around with no leash and play ball with dad and Nick or go jump in grandma's lap if I needed to be protected. There are two sides to the park. One is for larger dogs and the other is for smaller dogs. That black thing went into the big dog side and guess what? Those big dogs were chasing after him like he chased after me! Haha! Karma!
Those big dogs were hilarious though. There was a small kiddie pool on their side. Someone would fill it up with water, and one of the big dogs would come over and PLOP itself into the pool. After a few minutes another big dog would wander over to the pool. The dog in the pool would growl, but he would get out and let the other dog have the pool, whereupon HE would PLOP into it. They continued this game the whole time we were there. One big ol' dog after the other GROWLING and PLOPPING! We all laughed about that!
After we went to the dog park, Nick went to the batting cage and practiced hitting the ball. He liked that a lot!
I hope we go back to the dog park soon. Maybe I can meet some friends to play with.
Me, after a dog's day afternoon. (My eyes are really gold, not green.)

Liam's Birthday Party and a Trip to the Beach
tag:
I got to go to Liam's birthday party. He was two years old. Me and him are almost the same age, but he was born in March and I wasn't born till July. There were a lot of people there. Alaina
took me for a walk and we even got up on the playset with all the kids. My tail was
wagging like crazy. It was so much fun!
Sunday, my grandma took me to the beach. It was my first visit. I loved walking on the sand, but I was scared to death by the water coming to shore. I thought it was something coming to get me and I didn't like it at all! Grandma says she should have taken pictures of the skid marks I left in the sand when she was trying to make me walk in the water. She says I have to get used to all kinds of things. Oh boy! You never know what that could mean!
We had a good day though. We rode in the car for a long time, then we got out and walked in the sand. It was exciting. There were so many new things to feel, and see and smell. We walked down to a creek but couldn't get into the water. Then we got back in the car, drove some more until we got to Pass Christian, Mississippi.
As soon as Grandma saw the beach, we got out and walked in the sand again. There were birds all over the place! They were walking in the sand too, squawking and flying everywhere. Also there were little kids and I barked at them when grandma was walking me. I mean you have to protect your grandma, right? After watching them for a while tho, I realized they were no threat and I wanted to play with them, so as soon as I noticed my leash was loose, I took off. But wouldn't you guess? GRAANDMAA caught me before I reached them. Darn, just when I was about to have fun!
We watched the sunset at the beach then drove on home. Grandma said she could never have done it without the GPS on her phone. She's so dingy when it comes to directions. She says it was so nice to know exactly where we were going and not to get lost. I really don't understand. I'm never lost cuz I'm always with my grandma or dad either at home or having an adventure, and I know they would never lose me!

Here are some pictures from our trip.
Cool Footprints
Grandma found this jellyfish on the beach. It was real interesting and I wanted to smell it, but she wouldn't let me near that thing. I did manage to get close enough to see that there was a crab inside of it though. Weeiirrrdd!
This is an old pier. I guess it was destroyed in one of the hurricanes. Grandma says it's still interesting though.
Here I am, just enjoying the fresh air
Here's where grandma was making me walk in the water! I guess it wasn't too bad. No worse than taking a bath, and I kinda like my bath.
Pretty sunset picture
Sitting on the seawall watching the sunset.
Heading home after a long and fun day. Can't wait to do that again!

Hi, I'm Roux-B!
tag:
Hi there,
My name is Roux-B Rose. (Pronounced RooBee) Originally my name was spelled Ruby, but when my dad and grandma decided to make me famous, they changed the spelling to something more "catchy". We're from the south where a roux is the base for much of our cuisine, and one of our most often spoken phrases when cooking is "First you make a roux.", so my dad thought that was a cute way to spell my name.
I have to say I really don't care one way or the other. It all sounds the same whether they say "Roux-B or Ruby Come get a treat!" Hey, I'm there! Sit? You want me to sit? Already doin' it! Lay down? "Here I am! Down here!
They tell me I'm the cutest thing they ever did see, but I think they may be prejudiced so I'll let you be the judge. I definitely think I'm kinda cute tho. :) This is a picture of me when I was a puppy. I mean, look at that face! I'm a little more grown up now and look like this.
I'm cute and sassy, elegant and ornery. I get excited easily and hate to have my picture taken. They love me anyway and say I bring a lot of pleasure and laughter to their lives. Gee that's easy. I just have to be myself. About the only time I really get in trouble is when I chew up paper. My grandma HATES that and I REALLY like to do it when I'm mad at her. HeeHee
We hope you will follow us on our adventures! My dad and grandma plan to paint pictures and do all kinds of art about me. People are really silly, but hey, whatever floats your boat, huh?
